After yesterday's 9-8 win for Philadelphia, we're expecting much more of a "duel" in this one.
Dan Straily: He's 9-8 with a 3.95 ERA. Straily gave up four runs (three earned) over five innings in a no-decision against the Braves on Thursday. Straily has now given up three eanred runs or less in 23 of 29 outings and to go along with his solid 3.95 ERA he also sports a siny 1.27 WHIP and 8.1 K/9.
Aaron Nola: He's 10-10 with a 3.71 ERA. Nola gave up three runs (just two earned) off seven hits while striking out eight over 5.1 innings in a loss to the Nationals on Thursday, earning a no-decision for his effort. Nola has scuffled a bit of late, but note that he's been sharp at home by going 7-4 with a 3.18 ERA.
The bottom line: We think these normally offensively challenged teams completely wore themselves out after yesterday's slugfest and that all signs point to a lower-scoring pitchers duel. Play the UNDER.
