The Nashville Predators have started a six game road trip by winning two of their three games and are hoping to stay successful in Winnipeg against the Jets tonight. The Jets are coming back home from a four game road trip where they impressed on the D but also struggled offensively. I think the visitors are well worth the price in this encounter.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. The Jets Scoring Woes - Only two other teams in the NHL have a worse goal per game average than the Jets as they have found the net only 22 times over 12 games. One reason is a malfunctioning power play, they're converting on less than eight percent of their chances with the man advantage. Bryan Little is their top scorer with five goals, but he has been held scoreless over his last four. They've scored only two goals at even strength over their last three games.
2. Pekka Rinne - The 32 year old Finn has started each game on this road trip so far conceding only five goals. He is 7-2-1 behind a 1.87 GAA for the season and has owned the Jets in previous meetings, winning all of his five starts with a 1.99 GAA.
3. X-factor - Filip Forsberg totaled six points in 18 games for the Predators last season. He has already topped that this year, assisting eight goals while scoring three himself and is coming fresh off a career-high three-point game against the Nucks last Sunday.
Selection: This is a play on the Nashville Predators (10*)
