The D'Backs have won the first two games of this home series versus Colorado, and they welcome back their ace Patrick Corbin in Game 3 tonight. Corbin missed all of last season recovering from Tommy John surgery, but he was 9-0 with a 2.06 ERA in his first 11 starts in 2013. Whether or not he can regain that form, or how quickly he can is anyone's guess. The fact is, he likely won't need to be great to be better than the Rockies starter.

David Hale will toe the rubber for the Rockies, and he hasn't missed many bats. Hale (2-3, 5.95 ERA) allowed five runs on nine hits in a 7-1 loss at Oakland his last time out. He's allowed 15 runs on 27 hits while losing his last three starts.

"I know I'm ready," Corbin said. "I'm really excited about this day. These past 16 months, it's what I've been working for."
