The Tigers won Game 1 of this home series versus Seattle in dramatic fashion, with Justin Upton hitting a walkoff single in the bottom of the 12th inning. The Mariners have lost seven of their last nine overall, and it doesn't get any easier facing the Tigers ace tonight.

Justin Verlander is quietly having a fantastic season for the Tigers, and he comes into tonight's game off three straight wins. Verlander (7-5, 3.87 ERA) gave up four runs on eight hits, striking out seven in seven innings in a win at Kansas City his last time out. He's 4-2 with a 3.26 ERA in seven home starts this season.

The Mariners hand the ball to James Paxton, who makes just his fifth start of the season. Paxton (1-2, 2.86 ERA) allowed three runs on seven hits and two walks over six innings in a 6-4 win at Tampa his last time out.

The southpaw will have his hands full with Miguel Cabrera, who was 2-for-5 with a home run and a pair of RBIs in Game 1. Miggy is batting .385 at home this season, and he's 3-for-5 lifetime versus Paxton.
