Lately, it's looked more like old-fashioned Big Ten defense by the Timberwolves, who have completely turned around their fortunes since a recent home loss to the Kings stretched a slump to four games. Now, it's four wins since, and not just routine wins, but featuring some elite defense that has opened the eyes of everyone in the league. Never before has Minnesota won four straight games and in the process allowed fewer than 95 points each time. But so it is in the current four-game surge in which no foes has tallied more than the Clippers' 92 points last week, and all four games clear "unders" in the process. The Warriors were victimized 107-90 on Friday and looked to have no answers for the Wolves' defense. Not sure the NBA zig-zag theory comes into play tonight in San Francisco.
