It is fair to ask if Peter Laviolette has the answers to fix what is ailing the Rangers, who played one of their worst games of a mionth0long decline in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Kings. In the past, Laviolette has been able to call upon Jonathan Quick in goal for an immediate fix, but even that didn't work last Sunday in a 7-5 loss at Seattle. Quick, who relieved a shaky Igor Shesterkin late in Saturday's loss, has still been mostly reliable this season with his 2.39 GAA. The Blues have improved defensive numbers across the board since Jim Montgomery took over behind the bench for Drew Bannister a couple of weeks ago, and Joel Hofer has saved 71 of 77 shots in the three games (all wins) he has been in the net since the coaching switch.
