This looks like one of those years when Diego Simeone might be able to steal away La Liga from Barca and Real Madrid. Simeone has done this a couple of times in the past, and various Euro observers believe Atleti is going to grab something big this season, whether it be the Liga or Champions League. For the latter, Simeone is cruising into the knockout phase, perhaps even with a bye, and can go top of Liga with a win at Motjuic. As has often been the case with Simeone's best squads of the past, defense has been excellent, especially GK Jan Oblak; Atleti's mere 11 goals allowed is ties with Real Sociedad for best in Liga (with a big difference; Atleti has scored 31 goals, La Real just 16), Meanwhile, Antoine Greizmann is back on one of his goal-scoring binges (four in four matches). Add it up, and Simeone's troops are unbeaten in eleven, while Barca sports unsightly losses to lowly Las Palmas and Leganes (both of those losses at home!) within the past three weeks.
