Two Bay Area rivals are set to duke it out this Saturday, and there are some stakes attached. If Cal beats Stanford, they lock up bowl eligibility, and they come into this one as significant favorites.

The total, though, is what intrigues me here. Both of these teams have had their troubles this season, but they've also been able to put up points in shootouts. Cal, for instance, put up 90 points across their back-to-back wins earlier this month before falling 33-25 against Syracuse. Stanford, meanwhile, has scored at least 24 points in each of their last three games, including a last-out 38-35 win over Louisville.

Given the offensive abilities and defensive inefficiencies of both teams, I think we see a lot of points Saturday in Berkeley. Give me "over 54" in a game where I think at least one side threatens 40 points.
