The San Francisco 49ers open the preseason against the Las Vegas Raiders. The 49ers will have a spotlight on the quarterback position, is Brock Purdy the real deal? or is he actually the last player in the draft? Is Trey Lance a first-round draft pick or a bust? If they can get the QB position sorted out, they have a lot of weapons on the offensive side of the ball. Christian McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel, George Kittle, and Brandon Aiyuk give them a lot of firepower. The defense is returning a Jiof their players on the defense end. They need to add some depth to the defense as they showed some fatigue at the end of the season. The Raiders were a disappointment last season and made some changes. Derek Carr is gone and has been replaced by Jimmy Garoppolo. They have yet to sign one key offensive weapon in Josh Jacobs. The defense improved last season and will need to show more improvement this year. These teams have participated in joint practices and 7v7s this past week. The 49ers did not look good in these drills according to reports with both QB's struggling. Lance and Darnold will see heavy usage for the 49ers. Take the Raiders in this one.
