Pablo Lopez opens August for the Marlins with his sixth Major League start since being called up at the end of June. The righty was roughed up in his last outing against the Nationals, surrendering four runs on nine hits in 5 2/3 innings.

Gabe Kapler issued Nick Pivetta a vote of confidence following a loss last weekend in Cincinnati. Pivetta doesn't allow HR's which ranks among the game's best.
The Marlins are also 0-11 this year on Thursdays for some reason.
