The UConn team is going to try to pick up a win here, but that could be a far stretch for a team that has not had an offense show up and a defense that has not really been able to contain the opponents offense. This compared to the Syracuse team who is unbeaten on the season and have really seen the defense start to make improvements on the year as the opening game was a close battle, but the Orange ended up bringing home the win again.
With the Huskies the offense is fairly balanced with a total of 215 yards in the air and 202.3 yards a game on the ground. However, the downside is the leading passer and rusher for the Huskies is the same person which makes it easier to shut down the offense for the Huskies. The leader is David Pindell who has thrown for 645 yards and 6 touchdowns. However, when it comes to rushing he has carried the ball 62 times for 334 yards and 3 score.
The defense for the Huskies has been dismal at best as the team is giving up 55.7 points a game. The defense in the victory over Rhode Island gave up 49 points, which is a testament to how poorly the team is playing.
Syracuse is coming into this game unbeaten and that includes a victory over the Florida State Seminoles. The offense for the Orange are getting 228.7 yards a game in the air and have managed to get a total of 257 yards a game on the ground. The leading rusher for the Orange is Eric Dungey who has carried the ball 35 times for 277 yards and a score.
