Now we don’t expect the game to be that low scoring, this total is set nearly 10 points higher than last year and we don’t think they’ll reach this number. These 2 offenses rank 11th & 12th in efficiency in Big 10 play and they rank 7th & 12th in eFG% in conference games. MSU likes to play faster, however Purdue is one of the slower paced teams in the country and it’s a lot easier to slow a team down than speed a team up. In other words, we feel Purdue will get the slower pace they’re looking for in this game. After a few shaky defensive performances, MSU coach Tom Izzo has gotten on his players about playing much better and with more effort on the defensive end and they seemed to have gotten the message as they allowed just 45 points to Rutgers in their most recent game. Purdue has allowed 70 points or less in 9 of their 12 games this year and in their most recent game they held a fast paced, high scoring Illinois team to just 66 points.
