I had a play on the Phillies yesterday afternoon and that play came up short in extra innings.
I don't normally (or ever) "flip-flop" on a team, meaning I play on them one day, and then the next day go against them, but MLB is the one sport that's completely different, because the starting pitchers have to be assessed and looked at on an individual basis.
New series, two new starters here and it's a matchup and a situation which we feel favors the visiting side.
New York is out to break a two-game slide, scoring just one run in a two-game series loss to visting Boston.
Marcus Stroman is 3-1 with a 2.22 ERA for the Mets. His rosy numbers are a little too sharp, but he's coming off an outing in which he allowed five runs over five innings, so expect the veteran, who still owns a 0.99 WHIP, to settle down after that awkward start out of the way.
Chase ANderson though is 0-3 with a 6.48 ERA for the Phillies. He most recently gave up six runs over 3.2 innings to the Rockies.
Stroman and the Mets are ultra motivated here in this favorable matchup, and I expect them to deliver vs. the road weary Phillies side.
