Both teams have been playing to some higher-scoring affairs of late, but I think that trend changes on Friday night.
San Fran has seen the total go OVER in three straight, while San Diego has seen the total go OVER in five of its last six, including two in a row, including a 12-3 blowout win in Arizona last time out.
But with two competent starting pitchers going head-to-head to open up this series, we look for this opening game to fall UNDER at the end of the night.
The Giants go with Logan Webb, who is 1-1 with a 4.03 ERA. Webb is coming off the best start of his life likely, going seven scoreless vs. a dangerous Miami Marlins line-up. He walked three and struck out eight.
The rookie goes up against Padres' veteran Yu Darvish, who is 2-1 with a 2.27 ERA. Darvish also owns a miniscule 0.85 ERA.
